Year 4 Coffee Morning

We will cover... -Expectations -Communication -Home Learning -Answer remaining questions -PE/Swimming -Music

Expectations School Uniform: correct colors, label everything, black school shoes, no jewelry/overly coloured hair/head accessories/scarves. Earrings must be studs. No earrings of any kind during PE or swimming. Must have PE kit at all times. Attendance: Please be punctual and attend school. There is too much fun learning to miss!

Expectations Home-learning Home learning sheets will be sent home before each new half term. Students are to complete the weekly spelling sheet, mathletics assigned activities, and the family project. Reading of the student’s assigned accelerated reading books/library books will be expected as well. Make sure students take great care of their library books. All log ins should be in your child’s home school diary soon!

Expectations High expectations, responsibility, follow class rules/school rules. Please come to the teachers first of you have any concerns. Encourage your child to do so as well. Pencil cases: Kept in bag or tray, student’s responsibility, used for art and extras.

Swimming/PE Year 4 Willows will go to Isleworth Leisure Center for the first half of the year. Tamarinds will go the second half. We will start in October this year due to pool maintenance. Our day and time will be discussed as we find out from the pool. Make sure children bring all necessary items for swimming. (towel, swimming costume (1 piece), swimming cap, snack, bag for all belongings) Parent sign ups to assist these trips will be on the outside board when needed

Learning Music: All London Year 4 students are invited for a Young Voices singing concert that takes place in the Spring term. It is an event that goes beyond school hours. More information about this is to come! Music will be done weekly by our Smallberry Music Teacher on Monday mornings. Spanish: Spanish will be taught by our Smallberry Green teacher each Monday afternoon.

Lunches -A great way to foster team spirit -Fresh meals and a delicious menu -Table manners -Keep sending healthy options for packed lunches -Parent Pay online

Communication Email office to contact teachers with specific questions or concerns or chat wih the teacher at the door if possible Year 4 teachers are occasionally available for quick conversations whilst students are exiting school. Set up a meeting via the office if you need more time.

Communication Use the home school diaries to write any notes you would like us to see. Read the weekly newsletter Use parent pay to pay for trips, lunches and activities Read the board outside the year 4 doors For clubs you need to sign up by this Wednesday

Safety Reminders Talk to students at home about safety route from home and school (have a backup plan) Have them memorise address and a phone number for emergencies No walking into school without going through office Watch for announcements on the outside board
