Fig 3 Input impedance of the MC3 artificial lung (IAL) compared with that of one with a compliant chamber placed at the inflow to the artificial lung. The impedance was measured in an in vitro, pulsatile circuit that yielded a flow and pressure profile similar to the pulmonary artery.
