What is Caldecotte? Caldecotte is a local outdoor activity centre based in Simpson. It’s owned by Action4Youth giving children the chance to take part in activities which they wouldn’t usually do. The Caldecotte Xperience offers a variety of exciting adventurous activities and learning experiences for young people and adults.

There will be no facility to blow up air beds. Sleeping - tents Everyone who goes will be sleeping in tents. They will need to have a roll mat and sleeping bag, as they will be on the floor. There will be no facility to blow up air beds. Sleeping groups of 6 children. Adults will be in tents, which will be behind the children's tents.

Safety Each child has been assigned to a group, which will be accompanied by a Bushfield staff member. All Instructors have completed National Governing Body qualifications and have been assessed to lead activities by Caldecotte Xperience. Water activities – The children will all be wearing buoyancy aids. They do not need to be able to swim. Any specific water equipment required will be provided by Caldecotte. CCTV on the field covering the tents. There are also other groups on site who will be sleeping in different areas.

Behaviour Bushfield’s usual behaviour standards will be expected, as the children will be representing the school whilst off site.

Timetable – Day 1 Time Who 8:30am – 8:45am Children come into school and sign in with their bag and kit. Please only send 1 bag that they can carry. Please follow directions on the day. Please hand in medication. Registration will be in Year 3. Bushfield 9am – 11am Shuttle children in minibuses to Caldecotte. Taking all kit with us. 11:15am – 12:45pm Activity archery, raft building, SUP boarding, climbing Caldecotte Team 12:45 – 13:15 Lunch – please provide a packed lunch in a plastic bag, which can be thrown away. Set up tents. 13:15 – 14:45 Activity: kayaking, caving, abseiling and canoeing

Timetable – Day 1 Time Who 15:30 – 17:00 Activity: Team dynamics Caldecotte Team 17:30 – 18:30 Dinner – BBQ sausage, burger, mixed salads, cornettos Cooked and sorted by Caldecotte 18:30 – 20:00 Own activities: orienteering (Caldecotte Park) Bushfield 20:30/21:00 Getting ready for bed. Time to chat and chill! 21:30 Go to sleep!

Timetable – Day 2 Time Who 08:00 Breakfast (cereals, milk, toast, butter, jams, yoghurts) Pack up clothes. Bushfield 09:30 – 11:00 Activity bushcraft and sailing Caldecotte Team 11:00 – 11:15 Break / move to next activity 11:15 – 12:45 Abseiling, climbing, high ropes, bushcraft, SUP boarding 12:45 – 13:15 Lunch Baguette, crisps, fruit, chocolate bar. Choice of cheese, ham, tuna, jam and egg.

Essentials: Please ensure your child has packed their own bag so they recognise their own clothes when they pack up on the final day. All clothes to be named. All clothes to be ones you are happy to get wet and dirty in the lake.

What not to bring. Jeans – they get heavy when wet and are restrictive in movement. Electronic devices – they do not need them. They will be left behind. Phones – we will have someone in contact at school at all times. The number for this phone will be sent out in a parent mail. Brand new clothing or white clothes.
