Expectations for the year 7th grade language arts Mrs. Dollar

What I expect from you Be present Pay attention Be respectful of mine and your classmate’s time Have your supplies open and read when you sit down Ask questions if you are confused, I can’t help you if I don’t know You will write You will read

What you can expect from me Patience listening I will have you prepared for everything I will respond to your requests for help in a timely manner I will make sure you work hard but have fun as well. I will be fair and honest

Composition notebook setup You need 1 composition notebook per semester. You need to get it out now and write on the front the following things: your first and last name, and your class period (3,4,5,6) When you open the composition notebook the first page you will write on top “TABLE OF CONTENTS). Every time you write in it, you will number the pages and fill out the table of contents so you will be able to find your writing. I have an example I can pass around if you need. (I would skip a few pages before your first assignment, you will need about 3 pages for the table of contents, you may write front and back) Once you fill this out go ahead now and put it in the appropriate bin on the writing bookshelf

3 ring binder setup You were also required to have a 3 ring binder, you will bring this everyday to class. This is where you will place handouts that are 3 hole punched for reading and writing units as well as take notes. Your composition notebooks are strictly for reading and writing in class assignments and you will be told when to get the notebook. The tabs are to be filled out as follows: Tab1: Grammar Tab 2: Unit 1 Tab 3: Unit 2 Tab 4: Unit 3 Tab 5: Unit 4 Tab 6: Unit 5
