High School Equivalency College Credit Pathway Kentucky Skills U High School Equivalency College Credit Pathway In partnership with the Kentucky Community and Technical College System Who is eligible? Age 19 or older Have not previously earned a high school diploma or equivalent accreditation Meet KCTCS admission and placement requirements Have a Kentucky address How is the diploma earned? Participants must earn at least 3 credit hours in each of the following content areas by passing with a grade “C” or higher: Written Communication Quantitative Reasoning Natural Sciences Social & Behavioral Sciences
Exploring Another Pathway: National External Diploma Program (NEDP) The National External Diploma Program (NEDP) is an applied performance assessment system that assesses high school level skills as well as workforce readiness of participants, awarding a traditional diploma to graduates. Ideal for partnering with WIOA in developing an integrated education and training program Designed for self-directed individuals with life and work experiences and a general familiarity with the computer. Offers flexibility of scheduling, and confidentiality through web-based programming. Evaluates competencies in ten content areas including Financial Literacy, Health Literacy, Civic Literacy, Geography, History, Science, and Twenty-First Century Workplace. Evaluates competencies that are based on skills outlined in the Common Core College and Career Readiness standards. Work is self-paced and may be completed at any location with computer access.
