Presentation transcript:

8. Northern Peoples - Chalk Talk Academic Objective: 80% of SWBAT earn a ¾ on the Proficiency Scale by restating and answering critical thinking questions about “Northern Peoples” while following a Chalk Talk protocol by the end of the period.

Chunk 1: Mini-Lesson

Chunk 2: Chalk Talk Step 1: Meet in your Groups 1-7 next to your assigned stations. Step 2: Silently, complete the work in your assigned section by writing down your answers on your packet. You may only communicate by writing to each other on the chart paper at your station. Respond by drawing arrows from your writing to the writing of someone who you are responding to, and put your initials after your work. Step 5: Trade packets and give a partner from your group a score on the proficiency scale, a glow, and a grow. Step 6: Rotate to the next station in 30 seconds and make whatever silly noises or talking you want, but be silent once time is up. Step 7: Repeat until we are done.

Exit Ticket Fill out your reflection up to where it says, “STOP HERE” Put your packet in your folder Put your folder on the round table Pack up Stand next to your seat Wait to be dismissed
