Student Centered Learning PARAMETERS AND COMPONENTS

Outcomes  Teachers, in TCL and SCL approaches.  Learning is Competency-Based  Active learning  Learning outcomes  System of transfer and accumulation of credits  Flexible curricula and learning

Teachers, In TCL and SCL  In the traditional teaching approaches teachers acted like prophets who have been revealed or endowed to some particular knowledge and information that they want to share it with their students or people so as to push the “ignorant” students or people from darkness to lightness. In this approach students are taught to revere the master (teacher) and be faithful to his teachings and tradition and adhere to his approach.

Learning is Competency-Based  Students move ahead when they have demonstrated mastery of content, not when they’ve reached a certain birthday or undergone the required hours in a classroom.

Active learning  Innovative teaching it is a vital for teacher in order to meet their students' educational needs.  Team Learning or cooperative learning.  Problem-Based Learning: is a teaching method in which complex real- world problems are used.  Self-regulated learners are successful because they control their learning environment.

Learning outcomes  This can be defined as what the learner will know and be able to do by the end of a course or program.

System of transfer and accumulation of credits  The credits are a standard means for comparing the "volume of learning based on the defined learning outcomes and their associated workload" for higher educationacross the European Union and other collaborating European countries.

Flexible curricula and learning  It means that learners to move within and across education, training and employment. Flexibility means that young people can adapt their learning pathway as they go along, to suit their interests and abilities.
