Holidays in Decemeber around the world Mrs. Monacelli`s Class Week of November 28th What we did this week: Theme: We learned all about Gingerbread We made a gingerbread house with a gingerbread man inside- it was a good following the directions activity. We tasted gingerbread and graphed which part we ate first-head, arm or leg. We also practiced size order gingerbread. Math Centers Number 9 in our workbook, Gingerbread button counting, Numbers 1-10 on gingerbread. Literacy Centers: still learning the routine of these centers-we added a sequencing activity to read to self, Letter C practice was in all the centers –including finding the letter c in the poems. Writers Workshop-Read “The Gingerbread Man” and the drew something from the book that was chasing the gingerbread man. Readings Workshop-Read another version of “The Gingerbread Man” and then compared the two stories. We also watch the movie of the gingerbread man and compared that version to the other too. Star of the week-We learned all about Drake Reminders/ Important Class Info No school tomorrow Friday Dec. 2 Next Friday is our Field trip to Shalom-If you volunteered to come-all are welcome-please bring 8.50 for admission at the gates! Now that the weather is getting consistency colder-please make sure your child has hats and gloves all the time-please label them all!
