What is ? A secure, world-wide roaming wireless network access service developed for the research and education community. Uses 802.1X for authentication and a hierarchical system of RADIUS servers Started in 2002 in Europe, eventually came to U.S. ten years later.

How to setup Three RADIUS polices are needed: Roaming user policy Allows external campus user to authenticate Local user policy Allows campus user to authenticate locally Proxy user policy Forwards non-campus users to eduroam-us servers
How to setup
Allows connections from eduroam-us RADIUS servers This removes the suffix from the USERID
This makes sure we allow the correct IU domains
This allows any domain that doesn’t match an IU domain to get proxied to the eduroam-us RADIUS servers.
eduroam will become the main SSID at IU IU Secure will be retired in January 2020 Other universities trending this direction 32% use eduroam as primary SSID Communication Plan to educate users
