SCRIPTURE READING: Ecclesiastes 1:1-8

The words of the Teacher, the son of David, king in Jerusalem The words of the Teacher, the son of David, king in Jerusalem. Vanity of vanities, says the Teacher, vanity of vanities! All is vanity. What do people gain from all the toil at which they toil under the sun? A generation goes, and a generation comes, but the earth remains for ever.

The sun rises and the sun goes down, and hurries to the place where it rises. The wind blows to the south, and goes round to the north; round and round goes the wind, and on its circuits the wind returns. All streams run to the sea, but the sea is not full;

to the place where the streams flow, there they continue to flow, there they continue to flow. All things are wearisome; more than one can express; the eye is not satisfied with seeing, or the ear filled with hearing.

*PRAYER OF CONFESSION (unison) We continue to be tempted, Faithful God. We are blessed with gifts to use for others, but we want to keep them for ourselves. We easily notice the mistakes of those around us,

but do not want to look in the mirror at our own lives but do not want to look in the mirror at our own lives. We turn our wants into gods, so we do not have to recognize how they can damage us. Forgive us, God of steadfast love.

Fill the emptiness of our spirits with the richness of your grace; feed our selfish hunger with the bread of compassion for the world; pour the living waters of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior,

into our hearts until they overflow with love into our hearts until they overflow with love. (silence is observed for reflection and prayer)

*ASSURANCE OF PARDON L: Friends, hear the Good News: In the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, we learn that God’s love has no bounds. In Christ, we are forgiven, and are empowered to begin anew.

Friends, believe the Good News of the Gospel Friends, believe the Good News of the Gospel. P: In Jesus Christ we are forgiven. Amen.

CHOIR ANTHEM “Spirit Song” ~Wimber

Time with Young Christians

PROCLAIMING THE WORD SCRIPTURE READING: Isaiah 55:1-9

Ho, everyone who thirsts, come to the waters; and you that have no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. Why do you spend your money for that which is not bread, and your labor for that which does not satisfy? Listen carefully to me,

and eat what is good, and delight yourselves in rich food and eat what is good, and delight yourselves in rich food. Incline your ear, and come to me; listen, so that you may live. I will make with you an everlasting covenant, my steadfast, sure love for David. See, I made him a witness to the peoples, a leader and a commander for the peoples.

See, you shall call nations that you do not know, and nations that do not know you shall run to you, because of the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, for he has glorified you. Seek the Lord while he may be found, call upon him while he is near; let the wicked forsake their way,

and the unrighteous their thoughts; let them return to the Lord, that he may have mercy on them, and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. For my thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways my ways, says the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth,

so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. L: This is the Word of the Lord. P: Thanks be to God!

“Satisfaction” Rev. Tedd Pullano

When I'm watchin' my TV and a man comes on and tells me How white my shirts can be But, he can't be a man 'cause he doesn't smoke The same cigarettes as me I can't get no, oh, no, no, no, hey, hey, hey That's what I say I can't get no satisfaction, I can't get no satisfaction 'Cause I try and I try and I try and I try I can't get no, I can't get no

Satisfaction’ was ‘my view of the world, my frustration with everything… (disgust with) America, its advertising syndrome, the constant barrage - Mick Jagger

The Lord’s Prayer (unison) Our Father, who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy Kingdom come; thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.
