Mrs. Lewis and Mrs. Daigle’s Weekly Overview Week of March 25, 2019 LEARNING IS WINNING!! Math: Module 6 Topic B: Decimal Fractions Students will learn to decompose tenths into 10 equal parts to create hundredths . Students will use metric measurement to investigate decimal fractions greater than 1. Students will model decimal fractions using, visual models number lines, place value disk, and expanded form. Please refer to Math News Letter, Homework, and exit tickets to prepare for test. Mid Module Test (Topics A and B): Friday, March 1st. Review Multiplication facts nightly Science: Waves and Communication Focus: Light In class discoveries, Interactive Notebooks, online research, videos, experiments, and discussions. Science Test: Wednesday A Study Guide has been provided. S.S. (BOTH CLASSES) We are continuing Industrial Revolution this week. Reading: This week we are starting our new unit on the novel Cricket in Times Square. It is a fun, fiction novel to read while we prepare for our state test at the end of April. We will continue to have cold reads with multiple passages and writing tasks to match to prepare for this. Spelling: We are on unit 21 this week searching for and using words with the suffixes er and or. Writing: Our writing now consists of 2 or more paragraphs and students are doing great using the RACE strategy for each paragraph! Keep it up! ACHIEVE3000.com website: Achieve trackers sheets were given out on March 11 and will be due on Thu. April 18 before Easter Break. Report Cards went home Friday. Spring pictures are tomorrow for those who choose to order. Smoothie Day is Wednesday for those who purchased.
