Lets look at some good and not so good examples…. Tag lines to avoid…. My first piece of evidence is….. My authorizing evidence is… My illustrating evidence is.. My next piece of evidence is… First I want to talk about… Etc… Instead say…. According to John Smith, author of “Text title” John Smith, author of “Text Title” states, The Article titled “Text Title” claims, John Smith states, “Evidence” in his article titled “Article Title.” Etc.

On the text you selected for revision Assignment- Go through your selected text and change all of your signal phrases to be more academic sounding! Add to each piece of evidence if any were missing.
