Burns/Dudley/Marrero Oct 1-5, 2018 ELA: Dudley/Burns: We will work on an Underground Railroad Journal this week in class. Students will write from a slave’s point of view. Marrero: We will continue reading an excerpt of “Island of the Blue Dolphins” this week. Vocabulary will be in the binder. Test Tuesday. 1st Nine Week Language Skills: conjunctions, prepositions, interjections, commas in a series, context clues, Greek and Latin roots SCHEDULE: MONDAY: Class Book Fair Burns: 10:00-10:30 Marrero: 10:30-11:00 Dudley: 1:30-2:00 TUESDAY: Marrero ELA Test WEDNESDAY: FIELD TRIP FORMS/MONEY DUE/Unit 2 Math test THURSDAY: Last Day of the 1st nine weeks; ½ Day for students. PTC for those scheduled. FRIDAY: NO SCHOOL *No School Monday or Tuesday, Oct. 8-9. Students return on Wednesday, Oct. 10 Math: We will review all of Unit 2: Decimals. Students will practice comparing, rounding, representing decimals in multiple ways, and adding and subtracting decimals. Students will take the mid unit 2 test on Wednesday, October 3rd. Students received study guides on Friday. SCIENCE: This week we will have the opportunity to review Units 1 and 2. SS: Students will have a refresher course on map skills this week.
