Relationship with S.A.I.T. in the “Past” At very start of cottage construction, we contacted the David Silburn with the SAIT “Green Building Technologies” (GBT) group. David & his team came out and completed infrared and air tests on 7 cottages. No surprise we were leaps ahead of what you would expect to see in Calgary. From there, we commissioned the SAIT GBT group to work with any lot owner who wanted to push the sustainability envelope. As Developer we paid for SAIT’s consulting services. To date about 15% of our buyers have done so as well.
Relationship with S.A.I.T. in the “Present” This past year we worked with SAIT GBT group on an Federal grant application for $2.7M, which would have allowed us to take all of Phase 4 net zero using solar. Unfortunately we did not receive any grant monies. We continue to explore with SAIT other means for CottageClub cottage owners to lower their overall carbon footprint and of course lower their cottage operating costs. SAIT is and will continue to provide educational seminars for CottageClub owners.
Relationship with S.A.I.T. in the “Future” SAIT is currently in discussions with building manufacturing plants for CottageClub Phase 4 product. SAIT is looking for affordable ways to help CottageClub owners achieve net zero. SAIT will help innovative CottageClub builders works towards CCMC stamp. More educational seminars coming.
