Considerations Is your student ready for high school level coursework? Algebra 1 is the foundation for all other high school math courses. Strong mastery of Algebra 1 is key for success in upper level math courses. Is building in a designated time for AP Statistics important for your student? If Algebra 1 is taken during 7th grade, only one semester of ACE math (Trigonometry ACE) is taken during the 10th grade year. It is not recommended that AP Statistics be taken concurrently with either AP Calculus AB or BC ACE.
