NEPTUNE Faith Ampadu Science Solar System

WHAT IS NEPTUNE?  Neptune is the eighth planet from the Sun that is apart of the Solar System and the farthest. It is a massive and dense planet.

WHERE IS NEPTUNE AND HOW FAR AWAY IS IT FROM THE SUN AND EARTH?  Neptune is in the solar system as once said, the eighth planet. Neptune is 2.75 billion miles from the sun and 2.7 billion miles form the earth.

HOW DOES NEPTUNE LOOK LIKE AND WHAT IS IT MADE UP OF?  Neptune is dark, cold, and very windy. It is made of of a thick soup of water, ammonia, and methane over an Earth sized solid center.  Its atmosphere is made up of hydrogen, helium, and methane.  The methane gives Neptune its color just as Uranus.  Neptune has 6 rings but they are very hard to see.

Neptune NEPTUNE IS DARK, COLD, AND VERY WINDY. IT IS MADE OF OF A THICK SOUP OF WATER, AMMONIA, AND METHANE OVER AN EARTH SIZED SOLID CENTER. ITS ATMOSPHERE IS MADE UP OF HYDROGEN, HELIUM, AND METHANE. THE METHANE GIVES NEPTUNE ITS COLOR JUST AS URANUS. NEPTUNE HAS 6 RINGS BUT THEY ARE VERY HARD TO SEE.

THE ATMOSPHERES OF NEPTUNE Refer to model…

IF I SPENT A DAY ON NEPTUNE, HOW LONG WOULD IT GO BY?  It takes 16 hours 6 minutes and 13 seconds for one day to go by on planet Neptune!  It would be incredibly impossible to live on the planet because the temperature is 55 Kelvin which is -216 in Celsius…talk about cold!

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE FOR NEPTUNE TO ORBIT AROUND THE SUN?  Since Neptune is so far from the Sun it takes longer to orbit around it. Scientist have found that it takes about years to orbit around the sun!

GRAVITATION NEPTUNE VS EARTH?  The surface gravity on Neptune is 110% meaning that if you weigh 100 pounds on earth you weigh 110 on Neptune.

WHO DISCOVERED NEPTUNE?  John Couch, Urbain Le Verrier, and Johann Halle discovered Neptune in 1846.

HOW MANY MOONS ARE THERE?  There are 13 moons and 1 unconfirmed moon

HAS ANYONE VISITED NEPTUNE AND IF NOT WHAT ARE THEY TRYING TO DO TO MAKE THAT HAPPEN?  No human being has visited Neptune because of the harsh temperatures. Instead of humans visiting, a space probe named Voyager 2 has went to Neptune in August 25, 1989.

WHAT ARE THE STREAKS ACROSS NEPTUNE?  clouds
