Monday October 29th WOW: Claim Learning Targets (same as last week) I can cite strong and thorough evidence. I can determine a theme/central idea and analyze how it is developed. I can write an objective summary about the text. Activating Strategy (Chromebooks): Which is more important: to be better than yourself, or better than everyone else? Explain your answer. - 5 complete sentences Vocabulary: flashback, foreshadow, objective summary, rhetoric, plot, perspective, convey, central idea, emphasize, evidence, explicit, and theme. ISR (independent sustained reading): students will read from Newsela on the 8th/9th grade reading level. Complete Assessments - 9th = TU3WU9 - 8th = PE3M Whole Class reading 9TH = BY6 - Standards 1 and 2 - 9/10 - 8th = KE2 Read/annotate as a class - look at questions and answer choices first!
