Living worthily Ephesians 4: 1-3 & 17-26
The CONSTRAINT / restriction of a Worthy Life Ephesians 4: 1 “ I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received.”
The CHARACTERISTICS / quality of a Worthy Life.
A Worthy Life is a HUMBLE Life (verse 2). A Worthy Life is a HEAVENLY Life (verse 1). “…the calling you have received.” A Worthy Life is a HUMBLE Life (verse 2). “Be completely humble” A Worthy Life is a HARD Life (verse 3). “Make every effort” A Worthy Life is a HOLY Life (verse 3). “the Spirit”
The CONSUMMATION / completion of a Worthy Life Ephesians 4:13 “until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.”
Ephesians 4: 4-16
The GIVER of the Ephesians 4:7,8 7. But to each one of us grace has been given as Christ apportioned it. 8. This is why it says: “When he ascended on high, he took many captives and gave gifts to his people.”
The RECIPIENTS of the Gifts Ephesians 4: 7 “But to each one of us...”
The DIVERSITY of the Gifts Ephesians 4:11 “So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers.”
The PURPOSE of the Gifts Ephesians 4:12 to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up
To Prepare us for Service To Help us to Grow To Protect us from Harm.
