Presentation transcript:

America’s First Offshore Wind Farm is Now Operating 5 turbines. 17,000 homes. 300+ construction jobs. 1st in the nation. Deepwater Wind is America’s leading developer of offshore wind. We are very proud to have developed, permitted, financed, built and are now operating America’s 1st offshore wind farm. The Block Island Wind Farm consists of 5 GE wind turbine generators installed on jacket foundations. It makes about 10x the amount of power used by Block Island every year. When the wind farm makes more power than is needed by the island, the excess power flows back to the mainland.

Building BIWF employed over 300 Rhode Islanders, and hundreds more on the US Gulf Coast We are very proud to have put over 400 Rhode Islanders’ to work during the project’s construction. We fabricated our foundations in Rhode Island and in Louisianna

Permanent Jobs We also located our permanent operations and maintenance facility in Rhode Island, creating permanent jobs, like those shown here.

400 MW 3500 MW 368 MW Deepwater Wind controls two leases that allow us to serve every market between Boston and Washington D.C. We are actively developing projects to serve each of these markets.

New York’s first offshore wind farm. Located 36+ miles east of Montauk, not visible from NY’s beaches. The Long Island Power Authority (LIPA) selected South Fork Wind Farm in 2017 after a year-long, technology-neutral RFP. Allows LIPA to defer construction of fossil-fired generation in East Hampton. South Fork Wind Farm will be the first phase of development in our RI/MA Wind Energy Area. The project was found to be the most cost-effective new source of power supply for Long Island’s East End.

Building Offshore Wind at Scale Deepwater Wind plans to develop our northern lease in phases. South Fork Wind Farm is the first phase. Revolution Wind – designed to serve New England – is the second phase Deepwater Wind is developing our RIMA lease in phases. South Fork Wind Farm is the first phase. Revolution Wind – designed to serve New England – is the second phase Deepwater’s federal lease is large enough to accommodate 2,500 MW The first phase of construction is South Fork Wind Farm The second phase is Revolution Wind Building Offshore Wind at Scale

120 MW wind farm located 19+ miles off the Ocean City, MD Awarded ORECs in a competitive process before the MD PSC On schedule to commence operations in 2023 Similarly, Deepwater Wind is developing our DE wind energy area in phases. Skipjack Wind Farm is the first phase of development in that site. Skipjack is designed around 15 machines, each 8 MW in site. Skipjack will be located far offshore, northeast, and over the horizon where it is barely visible.

On Schedule to Begin Serving MD in 2023 Spring 2017 Open Maryland Office Summer 2018 Submit Permit Applications Summer 2018 Begin Onshore/Offshore Surveying June 2020 Receive Permit Approval Spring 2021 Installation Begins Offshore November 2022 Commercial Operation
