ON THE FRONT LINES FOR MORALITY Battle Against Acceptable Materialism And Worldliness

Today’s liberal thinking and trends have been sown in Christians’ lives. Be the light (Matthew 5:14) Be separate (2 Corinthians 6:16) Do not run any longer with sin (1 Peter 4:3, 4)

Today’s liberal thinking and trends have been sown in Christians’ lives. “Good seed” and “bad seed” grow up together (Matthew 13:24-30). Ungodly relativism has infiltrated most people’s thinking.

Our minds lose spiritual clarity when we measure ourselves by others. The gospel calls Christians to renew their minds, transform their thinking. Romans 12:2; Ephesians 4:22, 23; Colossians 3:2

Our minds lose spiritual clarity when we measure ourselves by others. A common problem is to compare ourselves to the failures and successes of our fellowman. Example of a Pharisee (Luke 18:11-12) Example of Paul (1 Corinthians 4:2-4)

Acceptable materialism and worldliness are compromises we make to be more identified with and by the world. A tendency to be more concerned about material and monetary things than spiritual pursuits: Comfort becomes necessity. Are we so above being blindly ensnared by our prosperity? Haggai 1:4-5; Matthew 6:19; 19:22

Acceptable materialism and worldliness are compromises we make to be more identified with and by the world. A concern for temporal affairs and pleasures which the world can give us: Are we preoccupied with good, clean fun? Do we blend in with the world’s fashions to be accepted and liked? (cf. 1 Timothy 2:9-10) Is “me time” about me or about Christ? (cf. Matthew 14:23)
