The foundation in the fight against hunger. Hello everyone, My name is Sherri Jones and I am the Senior Major Gifts Officer at the Arkansas Foodbank. For those of you who don’t know about the Foodbank. We are the foundation in the fight against hunger. We are the largest food bank in the state serving 33 counties and over 280,000 people a year.

ONE in FIVE receive assistance from the Arkansas Foodbank. 2018 facts 80,000 (33%) CHILDREN SERVED 27,000 (11%) SENIORS SERVED 87,000 HOUSEHOLDS SERVED 2.1 MILLION VISITS MADE TO FOODBANK MEMBER AGENCIES OVER THE COURSE OF A YEAR. 280,000 People in Arkansas SERVED ANNUALLY ONE in FIVE receive assistance from the Arkansas Foodbank.

HOW THE FOODBANK WORKS DONATIONS ARE MADE: The Arkansas Foodbank secures donations from the food and grocery industries, government agencies, individuals and other organizations. FOOD IS STORED: The food that is donated or purchased is then stored in our 73,000 square foot warehouse. FOOD IS DISTRIBUTED: The Arkansas Foodbank arranges pick-ups and deliveries to its 310 partner agencies and schools. FOOD REACHES THOSE IN NEED: Donations are provided to people in need at food pantries, soup kitchens, youth programs, senior centers, schools, colleges and emergency shelters.

Food For KIDS Backpack Program 88 schools this year; 158,170 backpack kits handed out in 2017 School Pantries 14 sites in 2017: 6883 kids and families served last year Kids Café Afterschool Snacks 12 sites in 2017; 93,424 snacks and 2148 suppers served in 2017 Summer Feeding Program 6 sites; 12,751 meals served and 667 kids

Food For SENIORS + Senior Friendly Food Boxes (1152 boxes in 2017) + Senior-Focused Food Drives + Community Awareness + Building Agency Capacity

VOLUNTEER Local Pantry Needs & Kids Programs One of the most meaningful ways to join the fight against hunger is to spend some time as a volunteer with the Arkansas Foodbank. There’s no way we can feed the hundreds of thousands of Arkansans without the help of our volunteers.
