Themes More Emphasis on 21st Century Learning More Defined Role N E S AKA: “It’s not just about technology.” More Defined Role N E S W More Opportunities to Lead Access to Resources Administrator Support Time to Create Resources Rachel  What were the themes? You told us that you wanted more emphasis on 21st Century Learning because “its not just about technology.” You also told us you needed more access to resources. Not only that, but you also needed time to create resources! One of the most dominant themes was that you needed more administrator support. You asked for more opportunities to lead and a more defined role as a 21st Century leader. We heard you and created an action plan.

What actions have been taken? More Emphasis on 21st Century Learning Breakout sessions today are not about technology. Access to Resources Today’s icebreaker was intentionally geared toward illuminating available resources. Recommendations have been made to create more resources, such as customizable professional development. Time Breakout sessions today provide time to create professional development for your site. Administrator Support Recommendations have been made to both administrators and area superintendents. Every two weeks OSL has agreed to put a 21st Century update in the Deputy Minute. Make sure to emphasize that actions are already being taken from the recommendations.   Mark – first two Rachel last two: Time-Breakout sessions today provide time to create professional development for your site. Highlight Your Work and How it Enhances Student Learning Model for Your Peers & Leaders within the District Model for Professional Learning Communities Beyond Washoe County Schools N E S W N E S W Rachel: Why should you apply to be an Exemplar Classroom? This is an opportunity for you to model for your peers, area superintendent and even board members. Additionally, your classroom may serve as a model for people outside of WCSD. Most importantly, you will highlight your work and how it enhances student learning. So what does an exemplar classroom look like exactly? Why apply?
