Condover Hall Residential – 13.3.19 – 15.3.19 Parent Meeting 28.2.19

Condover Hall is a prestigious, Elizabethan residential activity centre, hosting teambuilding and non-stop educational activity ideal for school children, sports groups, summer camps and corporate team building events and conferences alike. The mansion house was built for Thomas Owen (the son of Richard Owen, a Shrewsbury Merchant), and completed in 1598. It has had many uses and has been set up as a residential educational centre for the past six years. The Venue

Itinerary Wednesday 13th March 9am – Leave Ashton Hayes Primary School on Meredtihs Coach 10.30am – Arrive at RAF Cosford Museum – Tour of Museum in Groups 12.30pm – Lunch in Room provided 1.15pm – Leave RAF Cosford 2pm – Arrive at Condover Hall – unpack and Safety Tour 3.30pm – Afternoon Activity 5.30pm – Dinner 7pm – Evening Activity 9pm – Bed

Itinerary Thursday 14th March All day activities at Condover Hall – breakfast, morning activities, lunch, afternoon activities, dinner, evening activities and then bed. Friday 15th March Morning Activities, lunch and then return to Ashton Hayes Primary School. 3pm – 3.30pm – Arrive back at Ashton Hayes Primary School.

Facilities Having had multi-million refurbishment in 2011, Condover Hall offers young people an awesome, safe environment set in magnificent grounds which include manicure gardens.

Facilities A range of spacious dorms, making for a sociable, fun stay.

Facilities Fantastic, recently built canteen area, where the children have a cooked meal for breakfast, lunch and dinner at designated times.

Facilities Shops and Games Room for any down-time (although we’re not expecting much as the itinerary is packed!

Activities and Activity Timetable Our Evening Activities are: Mini Olympics - Young athletes will have the chance to experience the thrill of being an Olympian during this exhilarating session. Instructors will begin by introducing the techniques used in different events such as Shotput, Javelin, Discus, Long jump and High jump. Once children have had sufficient practice in the events, the session will culminate in a competition to put the group’s Olympic skills to the test. Silent Disco - hilarious to watch and even more fun to participate, disco has never been so much fun! With wireless headsets and a choice of two channels so you only listen to the music you like.

Members of Staff

Safety MH has visited, conducted a pre-visit tour. Staff Training – All staff and Governors have a First Aid Qualification – MH has completed Administering Medication Training Full Risk Assessments have been conducted for all stages of the visit, either by school or by the Activity Centre.

Further Information Kit lists – these are available at this meeting Name tags and luggage labels Please clearly mark all of their belongings with their name and their entire luggage with a label showing student name and school name. Children will need to be able to carry their own luggage from the coach to their accommodation. Further Information Groups The children will be in 4 groups for the day activities – these are different to their room groups. All groups have one qualified instructor from the centre and at least one adult from AHPS. Spending Money No more than £5-10 please. Medication Any medication stated on the Form C that needs to be administered should be clearly labelled, prescribed by a Doctor and the appropriate forms completed.
