GALSTEER E-Resources overview GALILEO manages E-resources for three types of audiences: statewide resources for all GALILEO member libraries, group resources for individual GALILEO communities, and opt-in (costshare) resources for individual libraries.

GALILEO Strategic Goal – E-Resources/Content Provide a robust set of electronic resources (open and licensed) that meet the lifelong learning needs of all Georgians, leveraging local and statewide purchasing power Objective 1: Set up an e-resources advisory committee for GALILEO Review usage statistics and other metrics to analyze current e-resource portfolios Provide feedback on potential ERM tool(s), Determine process for maximizing usefulness of statewide and group-specific portfolios Work with Marketing to promote/highlight specific e-resources Objective 2: Implement new statistics/reports Work with e-resources advisory committee to determine their needs Objective 4: Implement recommendations from libraries and the e-resources advisory committee to improve the licensing/billing process Identify list of essential licensing terms and identify existing problems Add new cost-share opt-in options

GALSTEER E-Resources Committee: a short history August 2017 – Discussed potential E-Resources committee at GALSTEER meeting September 2017 – Formed an exploratory committee to suggest scope and size of committee October 2017 – Reported recommendations back to RACL Nov.-Dec. 2017 – Representatives selected for 2018 E-Resources Committee

Scope and Membership The E-resources committee will provide guidance and assistance for evaluating existing GALILEO resources, selecting new resources, and assessing resource needs through surveys and other methods.  The E-resources committee may form ad-hoc committees to address other issues identified in the course of its work.   The initial committee membership will be composed of one representative from each GALILEO member group (USG, TCSG, AMPALS, GPALS, GPLS, Public K12, and GISA).

2018 goals and timeline January – initial meeting February – finalize survey March – conduct survey April – interpret and report survey results May/June –make recommendations on ERM July onward – Focus on resource evaluation
