Presentation transcript:

By Annelies Kuypers

For this competition I had to do the following things- Design a performing arts centre for Dio and make at least 2, no more than three conceptual designs. Make it on Google sketch up Have at least 5 images of my PAC (performing arts centre) Make a presentation about it Do a TASC wheel on it Put the presentation on my Wiki page

This was the space we were given to make our performing arts centre. It would go here in our school.

Mr Gordon came to our class to tell us about the PAC and what we would need to include. In my building, I only have the basics, so these things are not included but would be if they were built. These are the notes I took down and the things that would be included- Extra level/separate area from auditorium- Classrooms with or without small stage 2 drama rooms, possibly 3 1 dance studio, possibly 2 2 music classrooms Senior teaching rooms, smaller Music tech classrooms Keyboard classrooms Some rooms joining together Choir rehearsal room Total= 15 teaching rooms different sizes thinking about sound etc. Prop rooms accessible from most classes Lockers/rooms to store instruments Toilets with showers Recording studio in quiet area perhaps next to music rooms Offices Staffroom with kitchen area and resource room Bathrooms and showers

To include in classrooms- Wooden floors Mirrors Teaching space Backstage- Quiet backstage rooms, sound prop rooms Room to stay in, eat chill out etc + showers, bathroom Auditorium- Auditorium with stage, raised seating so you can see and extra level/balconies of seats Comfy seats- full seating 1750 Entrance foyer with walkthrough space for students e.g. going from chapel to science Fly tower (space above the stage so scenery can be lifted down on stage) Fly tower machinery etc (ropes) Music, dance and drama will be used in centre Be able to speak in auditorium without needing microphone Need sound and lighting Underground level (below stage level)/elevating lift for stage entrance Orchestra pit Organ maybe, higher to raise sound Refreshments area Ticket office Extras- Both music blocks, pavilion and drama block will go Rose garden and fountain etc will be moved Lifts Disabled entrance

This is the shape of my PAC. On the side it says Diocesan School for Girls Performing Arts centre. There would be another entrance on the other side and over here

It has a ticket office, seating and a notice board. (walls are not included in these photos as it makes it harder to see) Entrance is here

It has a bar, which would sell snacks, drinks and franchise when shows and functions were on.

There is the backstage area (behind curtains, Stage, Orchestra pit, Seating, And Raised seating

There is A painting A table, A sofa, Two vending machines, And a sink.

I enjoyed this task very much, thank you for watching my slideshow!
