What is Cambridge AICE? An international, pre-university program developed by the University of Cambridge in England Examinations have been offered for over 50 years in more than 160 countries and 12,000 schools (including 89 HS in Florida) AICE first offered in the US in 1995, and officially adopted in Florida in 2001

CAMBRIDGE ADVANTAGES Flexible path to an AICE diploma Students achieving the AICE diploma, along with 100 hours of community service, earn the top level of the Bright Futures Scholarship to any Florida University Successfully completing the Cambridge Curriculum could provide up to 45 hours of college credit

High School Diploma Equivalent The only diploma programs which fulfills a State high school diploma option are those offered by Cambridge and International Baccalaureate.

AICE Exams are taken at the end of each AICE course in May/June. Pre-AICE course carries the same weight as Honors (.02) *Pre-AICE coursework prepares student for AICE course. AICE Exams are taken at the end of each AICE course in May/June. Pre-AICE Math 1 = Algebra 1 H Pre-AICE Math 2 = Geometry H Pre-AICE Math 3 = Algebra 2 H

What is the difference between an AS Level course and an A Level course?   An AS Level course is designed to be one year of study culminating with the examination in May/June and will earn one credit toward the AICE Diploma. An A Level course is designed to be the second of two years of study. The A Level exam earns a second credit toward the AICE Diploma.

How do I earn the AICE Diploma?

AICE Diploma Requirements: ---students must pass a total of seven tests with a minimum of one test passed in Math & Science, one test passed in Languages, one test passed in Humanities, and one test passed in Core categories (Global Perspectives). *May be used to meet the requirement for Math & Science or Humanities, but not both categories.

Requirements for Admissions to the Cambridge AICE Program Cumulative Unweighted GPA of 3.0 or above Grade 7/8 FSA ELA –Level 3 or above Grade 7/8 FSA Math –Level 3 or above

FAQs…. What support will students receive? All Cambridge students will be enrolled in AVID to support them with rigorous coursework. After school tutoring with AICE Teachers - Cambridge Study Tables Can my child also be enrolled in one of the other academies at East Lee County High School? Yes, this is encouraged. Is there time for students to participate in clubs, sports, community service? Yes, time management is the key.
