Heat Pump Water Heating FutureFit HPWHs Incentive available for Electric HPWH + Instalation + 200A service panel upgrade For: Existing Residences with natural gas water heaters, no new construction Cost w/ incentive is on par with a natural gas water heater replacement Cost further reduced for CARE/FERA customers Focus on remodels, homes adding solar, group buys, major MUD rehabs Share public dataset of (anonymous) customer usage patterns and listing installation costs by contractor, highlighting additionalities (e.g. needed ventilation added) Program covers one aspect of the SVCE electrification campaign known as . . . FutureFit Home EV Charging Heat Pump Space Heating Heat Pump Water Heating High Capacity Service Panel Integrated Controls Induction Cooking

FutureFit HPWHs Co-funded by BAAQMD Incentive levels designed in collaboration with City of San Jose’s Heat Pump Water Heater Program to minimize contractor and customer confusion Customer(s) market rate Single or Multi-family residences 10 CARE/FERA customers 100 Total projects Incentive Amounts $6,000 CARE/FERA HPWH+Panel $3,500 CARE/FERA HPWH only $4,500 non-CARE/FERA HPWH+Panel $2,000 non-CARE/FERA HPWH only

Next Steps Launching FutureFit HPWH program in June 2019 Also launching other relevant programs in coming months (virtual power plant initiative, all-electric showcase grants, workforce training & development)
