Finding a Book in Person When looking for a book in person, reference the call number given on the library catalog. For example- PQ2605.A3734 E813 1973 The library catalog online will tell you which floor the book is located. From there you can find it by locating the correct call number range on the map. This tells you what shelf the book is on, as well as which side.
Book Organization: Library of Congress At Eastern, the books are categorized by the Library of Congress standards. In the Library of Congress system, the first line is read alphabetically. The second line is read as a whole number. The third line is read alphabetically, and the number is read as a whole decimal. If there is a fourth line, it is read chronologically.
