Benefits 1 Earn an US Department of Labor Apprenticeship Certificate of Completion/ Journeyworker card Recognized and valued by virtually all firms in the US with technical and skilled trades employees Required for many positions with these firms These positions typically provide above average wages, benefits, and job security
Benefits 2 Save time (up to fours years or 8000 hours) by completing an apprenticeship program before you separate from the Navy No cost to you You complete the requirements by logging your work hours in your current job
Eligibility 1 Minimum of one year left on current enlistment (but many trades require several years of on-the- job-learning) High school diploma or GED Must have completed the required formal classroom instruction (e.g. A School) for the trade
Eligibility 2 The trade you select must be aligned with your current primary job at your current assigned command, NOT a collateral duty or temporary duty assignment (96% of rates have a related program) You can only be enrolled in one trade at a time
