Ms. Ballard, Mrs. Ishman, Mrs. Weber, Mrs. Graf January 9-13, 2017 Kindergarten Ms. Ballard, Mrs. Ishman, Mrs. Weber, Mrs. Graf Kindergarten News Specials: Our theme for the New Year is “Weather”. We continue studying about the seasons and weather as a classroom theme, in Language Arts and Science Lab. The children enjoyed discovering the thermometer. As part of our study of the weather each student will get a turn to be the meteorologist for the day.  There is a direction sheet in the front of the journal and the homework is quite simple.  The most important thing to remember is to return it to school the next day as another student is waiting to take it home. Mon.: Day 6: Music, Spanish, Library Tues. Day 7: Strings, Art Wed.: Day 1: Physical Education, Science Lab, Library Thurs. Day 2: Strings, Music Fri. Day 3: Physical Education, Art, Spanish Additional Info Upcoming Events Jan. 16 – No School, MLK Jr. Feb. 2 – 6:15 p.m. “Australian ABCs” performance. Expected activity for your K child! Feb. 10-Tubing at Roundtop Mountain- Parents Association Event 6 PM Feb. 14-Valentine Breakfast Feb. 17-Faculty In-Service – School Closed Feb. 20-Presidents Day – School Closed This is a reminder that Kindergarten students go to recess everyday, unless the weather is inclement. We URGE you to send your children in layers! Gloves and hats are mandatory for outside play. More upcoming… We have been practicing counting to 60 in class and writing the numbers 1 to 20. The children were asked to count to at least 20 and write 1 to 10 for the first report card. This report period, they will be assessed on their ability to count to at least 60 and write the numbers 1 to 20. To Remember Get ready to send in your ”Circle H” bag after the first snowfall and have your child practice putting their snow gear on by themselves so we can all go out and play in the snow! Weather Watching Now that cold weather has arrived, please send gloves or mittens and a hat with your child each day for outside play.
