Math Pathways for incoming 6th graders Math pathway 1 for 6th grade covers the 6th grade math content, preparing students to learn the 7th grade math content in their 7th grade year. Pathway 2 for 6th grade covers the 7th grade math content Math pathway 2 for 6th grade covers the 7th grade math content, preparing students to learn the 8th grade math content in their 7th grade year. Math Pathways for incoming 6th graders Math pathway 3 for 6th grade covers the 7th/8th grade math compacted, preparing students to take Algebra in their 7th grade year Math placement will be finalized at the end of the school year after all grades and assessments are complete. Teacher signature is required.
PE/Health & Fine Arts Elective All 6th graders will take PE/Health or Pre-Athletics All 6th graders will take one Fine Arts elective – Art, Band, Choir, Orchestra, or Theatre – If your child will be playing an instrument, be sure to attend instrument try-out night. Every effort will be made to schedule students into first choice elective. However, class size limitations and other scheduling factors may require placement in a student’s second or third choice elective. Gifted/Talented Services For identified Gifted /Talented students, the appropriate course selection is Pre-AP. Opportunities to qualify for G/T are available annually. Completing the Course Selection Worksheet 6th Grade Course Selection Worksheet Steps to Completing Course Selection Worksheet Completing the Course Selection Worksheet Circle one course selection for each number 1-5. Get teacher’s signature for math. Select PE or Pre-Athletics. All students will take Personalized Learning Path. All students will rank fine art electives 1-5 (1 being 1st choice, 5 being last choice). Student and parent signatures are required. Completed worksheets are due to your 5th grade teacher no later than February 1, 2019.

Georgetown ISD Secondary Schools Schedule Change Guidelines Schedule change requests must be made in writing, with a parent signature, within five (5) days of the start of class. Requests may not be approved. Requests for schedule changes will be approved for the following reasons: Error in schedule (This will be confirmed by counselor and the course verification form. If the course verification form was not returned, this request will be denied.) Immunization Requirement for 7th graders In preparing for a safe and healthy school year, the following additional immunizations will be required for your sixth grader to enroll in seventh grade: One booster dose of Tetanus, Diphtheria and Pertussis pertaining vaccine, only if it has been 5 years since the last dose was received; One dose of Meningococcal vaccine; Two doses of Varicella (Chicken Pox) vaccine with the first dose on or after the first birthday.
