ESTABLISHED IN ARTICLE I, II, AND III WITH CORRESPONDING POWERS) OF GOVERNMENT IN THE UNITED STATES AS ESTABLISHED IN THE CONSTITUTION.

PARTS OF THE CONSTITTUION 3 MAIN PARTS OF THE CONSTITUTION: A. PREAMBLE – INTRODUCTION B. ARTICLES – SECTIONS OF THE CONSTITUTION. C. AMENDMENTS – CHANGES AND ADDITIONS TO THE CONSTITUTION.

6 MAJOR PURPOSES DEFINED “FORM A MORE PERFECT UNION” – to unite the states into a single nation for the good of all. 2. “ESTABLISH JUSTICE” – all citizens treated equally. 3. “INSURE DOMESTIC TRANQUILITY” – provide peace and order, keeping citizens and their property free from harm.

6 MAJOR PURPOSES DEFINED 4. “PROVIDE FOR THE COMMON DEFENSE” – be ready militarily to defend the country and it’s citizens. 5. “PROMOTE THE GENERAL WELFARE” – to help people live healthy, happy, and prosperous lives. 6. “SECURE THE BLESSINGS OF LIBERTY TO OURSELVES AND OUR POSTERITY – guarantee the basic rights of all Americans including future generations.

“WE THE PEOPLE….” A. POWERS GIVEN BY THE PEOPLE PREAMBLE SETS THE TONE FOR THE CONSTITUTION – SERVES AS THE INTRODUCTION – AND EXPLAINS THE INTENTIONS OF THE DOCUMENT. A. POWERS GIVEN BY THE PEOPLE B. GOVERNMENT RULES BY THE CONSENT OF THE PEOPLE. C. GOVERNMENT IS THERE TO SERVE THE PEOPLE. D. GOVERNMENT EXISTS BECAUSE OF THE PEOPLE…NOT VICE VERSA.
