Al-hikmah academy 2017

Al-hikmah academy About us - Al-Hikmah Academy is an educational foundation in Manchester, which teaches: Islamic studies, Arabic , Quran , history and drama. We have classes from nursery to GCSE. - Al-Hikmah academy was established in 2015 through creating a unique strategy, goals and insight. Goals - Our goals are to lend our students a helping hand to develop their personalities, and to enhance their talents by creating the right teaching environment.

Teaching at al-hikmah Here in Al-Hikmah Academy we seek to provide the best service to our students. Therefore we chose our teachers carefully; we chose those who have lots of experience in teaching. We have teachers that hold Masters and PhD degrees in different paths. And as administrators we seek to improve our staff’s teaching skills by offering workshops to discuss various teaching matters. in Al-Hikmah we strongly believe that teachers are the key factor in the school therefore we try very hard to bring out the best from the teachers.

curriculum - we have chosen a curriculum that teaches Arabic language for non Arabic speakers. - school teaches Arabic language, Quran, Islamic studies in English, History and drama. -as well as creating our (Grammar curriculum) as an extra curriculum to help students with their Grammar. - we have also created our nursery, reception and non Arabic speakers (level A) curriculum ( so far), along with (Tajweed) curriculum to teach children how to read Quran. -We try to provide the best and the best year after year for the general interest of the learners.

about our relationship. To be honest we have received huge support from Saint Mary’s school, they allow us to use their building from 10 am to 4.30 pm every Sunday. Frankly, we use the building in an organized and useful way for the students. In which the students get to use the different facilities for example the football and basketball pitches. We also have classrooms with the latest technologies and equipment to enforce a good teaching experience.

And we also : - have the head teacher on the education board. - teacher observations on behavior management, quality teaching and classroom management over several week s across school . - Following up with St. Mary’s teachers to discuss the new learning and strategies we have seen.

The relationship with st Mary’s ce school - a close friendly relationship with the head teacher for several years. - organising after school club for St Mary’s CE School students. -Jenny is a headteacher who aims to serve the community of Manchester and supports local projects. -She has excellent experience in education and management. So … when I thought of starting my school, I had no doubt that I will get the support and help from the head teacher.

Reasons of having Jenny on the educational board So we are having her on the educational board: -She has excellent experience in education and management. - For the sake of the cooperation between the two schools to develop methods of education and gain experience and improve performance. - Strengthen the friendship between the teachers of the two schools. - Discuss topics that are placed in the school year schedule, provide advice and take advantage of the views. - Be fully aware of the curriculum taught in academic and ways of developing it.

The importance of teachers observations at saint Mary's school - To gain experience in education and how to manage the classroom. - Acquire different methods to improve performance and raise the level of education. - Applying the acquired methods and developing them in our school. - Cooperation between the teaching staff of the two schools. - To establish a relationship between teachers of the two schools. - Finding the right ways to overcome the difficulties teachers face during the educational process. - at the end of observations we plan a workshop for our teachers so they can talk to each other about what they have learnt from this experience.

St. Mary’s and Al-Hikmah What have been the benefits for St. Mary’s ? Community links have been really positive Working with Academy staff has developed leadership for our class teachers Our pupils are in a safe environment with the best resources Safeguarding is more effective as the relationship ensures sharing concerns Parents are happy and satisfied that provision is the best

Head teacher has been involved in looking at materials for the curriculum to be well informed of the content being delivered to pupils. Better home language has ensured better progress in English for our pupils. Children continuing their learning when not at school has helped children make good and better progress in St. Mary’s. Children who attend the academy are attaining at a higher level, in general, in class.

Next stpes - We always aim to improve our school and also to improve our relationship with the mainstream school. - we believe that there is more and more to be done, and we also believe that we can do more. we are planning to have class management and behavior management workshops at st Mary’s school so our teachers can attend these workshops to get more information of how to deal with students. -We are also planning for charity program for both schools.
