Overview of PMI Organization

PMI Mandates PMI is acknowledged by the GoaI as the only red cross organization in Indonesia based on Presidential Decree No. 25 year 1950 and No. 246 year 1963 PMI is widely recognized as auxiliary role to the government, guided by the 7 principles of Intl RCRC Movement PMI mandate in the Disaster management context is to assist and cooperate with the government, and to provide humanitarian assistance.

Provide life-saving assistance and basic services. Main Mandates of PMI : (Article 2 Presidential decree RI No. 246 -1963) Providing first aid services at each natural catastrophe or wars. Provide life-saving assistance and basic services.

Vision of PMI : (approved and endorsed by the PMI National Assembly 2014) PMI demonstrates strong characters and is professional, self-sustaining, and respected by communities Character: works in line with the International RCRC Fundamental Principles, Code of Conduct, both in managing its organization and its services Professionals: works based on universally accepted standards and norms and focuses on the most vulnerable groups. Self-sustaining: relies on existing organizational resources Respected by communities: recognized and supported by public at large.

Mission of PMI as auxiliary role : (approved and endorsed by the PMI National Assembly 2014) To become the forefront humanitarian organization that provides quality services to communities in line with the fundamental principles of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement. To strengthen PMI’s self-sufficiency through sustainable strategic partnerships with the government, private sector, movement partners, communities, and other stakeholders at all levels. To improve PMI’s organizational reputation at the national and international levels.
