FACTS Born in 1972 Studied Fine Art and Art History in Nairobi He considers June 6, 1995, as the day he became a ‘professional’ artist (when he had completed formal training in the arts) Michael has his own studio at the Go Down Art Centre in Nairobi A painter known for his controversial art on issues that concern Kenyans including corruption etc that people refuse to talk about He purposely doesn’t price himself out of the reach of ordinary people who are learning to understand Kenyan art (prices between 3,000 - 220,000ksh roughly £20 -£1700)

Michael’s family are also artists… his daughter (age 10) painted the ‘Giracon’ and his father the typical African portrait.
