Reasons for Conducting a Feasibility Study (cont’d) Assess the likelihood of corporate and foundation support Determine client’s potential to attract campaign volunteers Quantify potential to cultivate new donors and secure major gifts

Board Responsibilities Serve on the Ad Hoc Study Committee (usually 3 meetings) Read the Study Report and act on its recommendations Be an ambassador in the community for the PfP Vision

MJ&A Approach to Conducting a Feasibility Study – Timetable Eight Weeks Weeks One thru Three – Organize the Study Committee, prepare vision statement and list of interviewees Weeks Four thru Seven – 40 face to face interviews Week Eight – Prepare/present the Study Report

Cost for Conducting a Feasibility Study

MJ&A Approach to Directing a Capital Campaign If the Study Report is positive and, the Board votes to move forward, a campaign could require 24 to 30 months to complete.

MJ&A Approach to a Capital Campaign - Overview Phase I – Organization and Advance Gifts 8 to 10 months Phase II – Major gifts 12 to 14 months Phase III – Community Gifts 4 to 6 months

Board Campaign Responsibilities Make a financial commitment to the campaign Serve on the campaign committee if appropriate Act as ambassadors to promote and support the campaign Attend campaign events
