September Key Club Meeting 9/25/18

Attendance Make sure you remember to sign in at the beginning of each meeting and do not sign in for other people Only two meetings can be missed throughout the school year, and you must have a valid excuse All members who meet their attendance and service hours requirements will become Key Club Charter members

Service Hours 10 hours of volunteering are required to be completed by our final meeting in April These hours can be reused from other clubs Only 5 of these hours can be used from the Summer Hours earned during club sponsored events can also be used toward the 10 hour requirement

Our Charity Since 2006, the organization that Key Club Alabama has been donating to is the Children’s of Alabama. Children’s of Alabama is a a pediatric health center in Birmingham, Alabama with departments ranging from Blood and Cancer to Adolescent health. Our group project this year will consist of hosting fundraisers and possibly spirit night in order to raise funds for Children’s of Alabama.

Additional Volunteering Manna House (Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday are available) American Foundation of Suicide Prevention- Out of Darkness Walk- 10/21/18 Madison Street Festival- 10/5/18 Good Samaritan Hospice We also have a nation-wide grant we can apply for in the next month which would help us in hosting a fundraiser.

District Convention April 5th to 7th, 2019, at Hyatt Regency Birmingham The event involves contests, scholarship opportunities, leadership workshops, and opportunities to learn about ways to fundraise. More details will be released closer to the convention date
