Background rationale The ongoing drafting process and negotiations on future EU Framework Programme 9 (Horizon Europe) 2021-2017) are monitored. Its content, especially regarding the future “European Partnerships” (expected in summer 2019) will be instrumental in guiding the JPI AMR WG Governance in the development of sustainable governance, organization to functions and business model. Meanwhile, the WG will prepare JPI AMR Members for strategic discussion through surveying expectations and needs of JPI AMR operational structure in light of possible funding models and organizational scenarios. Elements to be taken into consideration List portfolio of scenarios for long-term sustainability. Analysis of the governance models and financial models/cost model for different level of ambitions: 10 JPIs plus other European and international initiatives. Actions for the MB voting representatives or their nominated Given the strategic importance of this task of the WG Governance, each MS voting speaking representative at MB is considered nominated ex officio or nominates till Friday 26th April another officer with the relevant skills at the purpose and mandated to represent the MS in this WG for the preparatory work. a host for the inter-governmental WS during Q4 2019 is sought. Decisions Sought Mandate 1) To look for complicity and explore engagement of other relevant R&I actors. 2) To prepare and carry out the proposed intergovernmental governance (& sustainability) workshop tentatively in Q4 2019. 3) To request each MS voting speaking representative at MB is considered nominated ex officio or nominates till Friday 26th April another officer with the relevant skills at the purpose and mandated to represent the MS in this WG for organising this intergovernmental workshop and preparing its background and discussion content. 4) Preparatory work by email and 1h-1,5 h every 6 week tele-meetings.
