Call today to ask us about our amazing Dental Health Month promotion… 20% off your DENTAL CLEANING (including dental scaling and polishing, anesthesia and extractions)

Did You Know… Dogs have 28 baby (or deciduous) teeth and 42 adult teeth? Cats have 26 baby (or deciduous)teeth and 30 permanent teeth? Periodontal disease is the #1 diagnosed disease in household pets! By the age of 3 an estimated 70% of cats and 80% of dogs have some form of periodontal disease. Periodontal disease and bacteria buildup on the teeth can lead to heart, kidney and liver disease. Good dental care and yearly dentals can add another one to two years to your pets life!

Signs you pet may have periodontal disease… Red irritated gums Bleeding gums Yellow-brown tartar Difficulty chewing or dropping food Change in eating habits Pawing at the mouth If you notice any of these signs Please consult you veterinarian For a full dental exam!

Preventing periodontal disease Annual veterinary exams are essential to maintaining good dental care in your cat or dog. Daily brushing is the Gold Standard of dental care, even a few days a week can make a substantial difference. If daily brushing is not an option, ask us about our Perio Support (probiotic that you put on their food) and Aquadent (water additive) or our various dental chews! Feed hard food whenever possible, it will help scale and clean the teeth as they eat. Yearly or bi yearly cleanings are a great way to get a complete exam of all the teeth and gums, as well as scale off the plaque that has built up on the teeth.

Your pet needs a dental, now what? Your veterinarian will determine if your pet is in need of a dental based on many different criteria. Blood work will be recommended to assure your pets organs are functioning to go under anesthesia. Usually the benefit of the cleaning will outweigh the anesthetic risk. A dental cleaning is a same day procedure and they typically feel better quickly especially if teeth are bad. Your pet will be sedated, teeth and gums examined, teeth will be scaled with an ultrasonic scaler, polished and fluoride will be applied.

Ask us today how to receive 20% off your dental cleaning for Dental Health Month!! Thank You!
