Need to improve running of the TRDC website and its functions Arising Issue IHO CB activity Limits & Needs Solution IHO (EAHC) CB activities are increasing but accumulating and sharing information is lacking. Need to improve running of the TRDC website and its functions Need to consider an infrastructure for running the e-Learning IHO MSs are requesting the CB material of the EAHC’s TFT • IHO A-1 PRO-2: The Assembly directed the IRCC to take into account e-learning in the IHO Capacity Building Strategy and to consider using e-learning in its Capacity Building activities. • 16th CBSC Action 4: ROK to liaise with Malaysia and UKHO to consider the possibility to release the TFT training material and to report back to CBSC 3/8

2. Outcome of TRDC Development of TFT training course 61 trainers in Basic Hydrography and Cartography, they currently deliver trainings in their own countries every year. The course material developed during those programmes is widely used by the MSs and is updated as necessary. 3. Lessons Learnt CB is the only way to resolve the technology gap between each IHO MSs. Trainings should be continued in long-term and should not be completed in a short period of time. The TRDC website should be improved to provide training materials (TFT, EAHC’s CB activities, etc.) and e-learning contents systematically with easy and convenient access. Dedicated human resources are essential for stable operation of the TRDC but there isn’t sufficient budget so more effort needs to be made. Success factors Provide various contents for different learners Easily accessible Able to download material directly 7/8
