Presentation transcript:

Using the Lesson Calendar As an alternative to viewing this presentation teachers are welcome to simply play with all of the options presented. You will NOT ‘break’ anything but you will find some great resources to support your teaching!

Start by downloading the Scope and Sequence Planners as they give you the overall program for the year. The Planners can assist in quickly locating lesson dates on the Lesson Calendar for any Topic in the curriculum.

The Calendar of Lessons for each year group is located in the Public Lessons menu.

You can click on the dropbox to change to the Lesson Calendar for any year group from pre-K to Year 7.

Use the forward and back arrows to move through the months.

You have a wide selection of multimedia resources to choose from including: Activities (pencil and paper and IWB versions) FlipCharts, Interactives, Videos, Songs and Maths Tools.

You can switch between year levels at any time to view lessons for that year level.

You can also use the Lesson Calendar for split year classes. We saw on the previous slide that Monday April 1 for Year 4 contains a lesson on Mental Multiply and Divide. Here we see (as indicated on the Year 5 Planner) that Year 5 also has the same lesson on the same date.

As with the Year 4 lesson, the Year 5 lesson has a wide range of multimedia resources to choose from. As Year 4 and 5 students are developmentally close there will be many resources at one year level that are also suited to the other year level.

If you choose to combine two lessons from Year 4 and 5 that were planned for different dates, this can easily be shown on the Scope and Sequence Planners. By end of year your Planners will probably look a bit messy as you adapt them to meet your needs.

There are several formative assessment options available with every Lesson Plan.

This is an example of a spreadsheet to record student progress relative to the Lesson Plan Objectives.

The Formative Tests can be accessed from the Lesson Calendar lessons or via the Assessment menu>Formative Tests
