EDUCATIONAL FARMS TITLE USERS Farmers from Northern Ireland, Spain, Malta, Italy ENTRY COMPETENCIES Farmers engaged in multifunctional activities OBJECTIVE To update their own current skills and be oriented to educative role of environmental sustainability

CONTENT Food education and sustainable development School on the farm Communication and promotion of the farm training offer. RELATED CONTENT TO SUSTAINABILITY Links between nutrition education and environmental sustainability

CASE STUDIES During the lesson two/three case studies on excellent examples of educational farms will be analysed: Farm n° 1 IL TEMPO RITROVATO Monticelli Terme di Montechiarugolo (Parma) Multifunctional services: agritourism, educational farm Farm n° 2 SOCIETÀ AGRICOLA BERTOZZI Bertinoro (Forlì-Cesena - Emilia-Romagna – Italy) Multifunctional services: direct butchery and sale of cow and pig meat and cold cuts; educational farm. Case n° 3 Learning by doing (pictures)

To plan an appropriately welcome of guests (empathy competence) To prepare informative and educational programs / projects according to the guests / learners requests. (Planning and methodological competence). To pay attention to the preparation of active teaching methods (Didactic competence) To take a careful analysis of the results, in terms of the effectiveness of the services provided. DURATION AND SUBDIVISION 8 hours of which 4 hours lectures and case studies, 2 hours of practical exercise, 2 hours visit to an educational farm. DIDACTIC METHODOLOGIES (formal and non formal) Learning by searching (analysis of case studies – cooperative learning) Informal learning (direct observation of working experiences in the farm) EVALUATION METHODOLOGIES Multiple choice test Open questions Thinking session and discussing on feelings and observations about the received training RELEASED CERTIFICATION Attendance certificate (detailed attendance certificate describing the treated matters and the number of training hours)
