WP2: Training of Montenegrin and Albanian academic staff and professionals/ administration in doctoral education Description: A certain number of supervisors, professors and administrative staff should be trained in the EU country with the aim to enhance their knowledge and skills in this area (at least 1 person from each Montenegrin and Albanian partner institution should be trained) Tasks: Task 1 (A2.1): Training of academic and professional staff on EU practices in doctoral education Task 2 (A2.2): Preparing Guidelines and recommendations for WB academics and professionals in doctoral education Time schedule: February – October 2019

WP2 (cont.) Deliverables Deliverable of Task 1: Report on training of academic staff and professionals from M. and A. in doctoral education – it will include individual mobility reports (this report and IMRs will be a starting point for writing guidelines (M24) Deliverable of Task 2: Guidelines and recommendations for WB academics and professionals in doctoral education (M24)

Target groups of training 1. Academic staff – focus on supervisors and academics involved in doctoral education Objective of training: to learn about supervisory practices in the EU, to enhance supervisory skills, to enhance knowledge and share experience from supervision across various disciplines and countries, to discuss main challenges in doctoral education (such as research ethics and integrity, open science) 2. Administrative staff – professionals managing doctoral programmes/ schools (e.g. members of management of faculties/ universities responsible for doctoral education and administrative staff involved in practical work related to doctoral education, such as admission, transferable skills training for doctoral candidates or training for supervisors) Objective of training: to enhance knowledge about developments in doctoral education across Europe (structured doctoral education – doctoral schools, transferable skills training, training for supervisors etc.) – and to learn how to implement these new aspects at institutions in M. and A.

Learning outcomes Learning outcomes of mobility and training: improved skills and competences, linked to either supervision or organisation of doctoral education; broader understanding of practices, policies and systems in doctoral education across Europe; increased capacity to trigger changes in terms of modernisation and internationalisation of doctoral education; better quality of the work and activities in favour of doctoral candidates; better understanding and responsiveness to social, linguistic and cultural diversity; increased opportunities for professional and career development; improved foreign language competences; increased motivation and satisfaction in daily work

Training plan 4 main events (?): June 2019 (week of 24 – 28 June) – Vienna (connected with ERASMUS week): training for administrative staff/ professionals September 2019 (week of 2- 6 September) Dubrovnik (connected with UNICA Masterclass on training for supervisors): focus on supervisors Maribor – focus on managers (rectors, vice-rectors, deans...) – institutional policies and strategies Banská Bystrica – focus on academics and professionals – how to establish transferable skills training
