Registration Form (Green) Class choices: Must choose five core classes Must choose one Physical Education course Must choose at least one other elective. Due back to elementary teachers by Thursday, March 7th for KWE & TCE, and HSE by Friday, March 8th.

Regular Core vs pre-ap core Regular Classes Pre-AP Classes Follows LISD core curriculum Average pace  Less rigorous Make-ups and redos allowed Follows LISD core curriculum Faster pace More rigorous 2-3 hours extra homework per week, per class Weighted grade every grading term Accelerated instruction in Pre-AP Math ONLY Make-ups and redos limited to TWO assignments per nine weeks

Pre-ap eligibility & contract Student is eligible if they have passed previous STAAR test in that subject area, OR have an 85 or better overall average in that current class. MUST be signed by student and parent to be processed Unsure about Pre-AP?  Talk with current teachers!

Accelerated instruction – pre-ap Math 6th, 7th, and 8th grade Math curriculum completed during 6th & 7th Pre-AP Math Algebra I completed in 8th grade for high school credit 8th grade STAAR taken at the end of 7th grade and Algebra EOC at the end of 8th grade Must take Pre-AP Math in 6th AND 7th grade to be eligible to take Algebra in 8th grade

Physical education – required in 6th & 7th Pre-Athletics Physical Education – P. E. Plan to play football, volleyball, basketball, or track in 7th & 8th grade Consists of workouts and conditioning Will be assigned clothes for athletics Do not plan to play sports or plan on only playing cross country, tennis, or golf Consists of walking and less rigorous workouts Will not be assigned clothes

Other electives – choose at least one Technology Applications Work with computer software such as Power Point, Excel, etc. Art Band Saxophone/Clarinet/Flute Brass/Percussion W. I. N.
