Recruiting Policy Every Cadet attend AT LEAST 1 recruiting event Professional at all times Semester goal: conduct targeted recruiting events aimed at highly qualified candidates from the specified fields of study. 3
Recruiting Market Det 040 has 56 x-town agreements: Universities (primary market) CSUs, UCs, Biola, Master’s, Embry Riddle, West Coast Two Year Colleges (secondary market) GWC, OCC, El Camino College, Cypress, etc High Schools (tertiary market) 4
Majors All accredited 4-yr majors are eligible for ROTC & scholarships Some majors are more sought after than others see www.afrotc.com for current list! Nursing (must have Bachelor’s) Critical Foreign Languages Technical Critical Tech Majors: Electrical, Computer, Nuclear Engineering Physics, Nuclear Physics Meteorology/Atmospheric Service 5
Recruiting Strategy: Targeted Organize targeted recruiting events Week of Welcomes & New Student Orientations! Departments/Club TARGETING anything but non-tech! Establish regional rep Post & distribute Det 040 brochures (electronic or paper) Write and submit an article to school newspaper Give presentation to class 6
Event Coordination Contact school: Career Services/Student Life office Explain who you are and why you want to conduct the event Notify Recruiting Flight(Guzman/Jones) when interested in having an event Notify Recruiting flight commander (Wihlborg) to confirm the date and to coordinate volunteers to attend Obtain recruiting material from C/Wihlborg. Communicate your date and location with cadets at the detachment. Promote & execute the event 7
