Pressure-controlled ventilation and intrabronchial pressure during one-lung ventilation†   H Rozé, M Lafargue, H Batoz, M.Q. Picat, P Perez, A Ouattara, G Janvier  British Journal of Anaesthesia  Volume 105, Issue 3, Pages 377-381 (September 2010) DOI: 10.1093/bja/aeq130 Copyright © 2010 The Author(s) Terms and Conditions

Fig 1 Sites of airway pressure measurements. During OLV, airway pressure was simultaneously measured in the breathing circuit and in the main bronchus of the lung being ventilated using an endoluminal pressure transducer. The pressure catheter was introduced through a swivel connector at the end of the tracheal tube in the main bronchus. The figure illustrates the right OLV. The set-up was symmetrically identical during left OLV. British Journal of Anaesthesia 2010 105, 377-381DOI: (10.1093/bja/aeq130) Copyright © 2010 The Author(s) Terms and Conditions

Fig 2 Effects of a switch from VCV to PCV on peak airway pressure (Ppeak) measured simultaneously in the breathing circuit and in the bronchus of the lung being ventilated during OLV (n=15). *P<0.05 vs VCV. The P-value refers to the interaction between ventilation and site of measurement. Fig 3 Mean percentage decrease in peak airway pressure (Ppeak) observed during the switch from VCV to PCV. Airway pressure was measured simultaneously in the breathing circuit and in the bronchus of the lung being ventilated during OLV (n=15). *P<0.05 vs baseline value. P-value refers to between-group comparison. British Journal of Anaesthesia 2010 105, 377-381DOI: (10.1093/bja/aeq130) Copyright © 2010 The Author(s) Terms and Conditions
