Story Arc: Narrative texts are structured into a five-part story arc. At the beginning, the reader learns about the setting and characters and the situation they are in. Next, the characters encounter conflicts or obstacles they must overcome. This causes action, suspense, tension and excitement in the story begins to rise. In the middle, the story reaches it’s turning point - the climax. Then, the characters start to solve the problems, overcoming the obstacles.
