The Republic of India became the 48th Country in the world to enforce right of information as “The Right to Information Act” w.e.f. 12.10.2005 in India. This act empowers citizens of India to access the information available with the "Public Authority”. The basic aim of the Act is to bring transparency & accountability in the working of “Public Authority” and thus containing the corruption. REIL has complied with all the provision of Section 4(b) of the RTI Act, 2005.

Objective of RTI Act. 2005 1. Provide for setting out the practical regime of right to information for citizens to secure access to information under the control of the Company 2. Promote transparency in the working of the Company 3. Promote accountability in the working of the Company

INFORMATION UNDER SECTION - 4(1)b OF R. T. I INFORMATION UNDER SECTION - 4(1)b OF R.T.I. ACT COVERED IN RTI MANUAL OF THE COMPANY UNDER VARIOUS CHAPTERS Particulars of organisation, functions and duties. Powers and duties of officers and employees. Procedures followed in the decision-making process, including channels of supervision & accountability. The norms set for discharge of functions. The rules, regulations, instructions, manuals and records, held by the company or under its control or used by its employees for discharge of their functions. Statement on the Boards, Councils, Committees and other bodies. Statement on monthly remuneration received by each of officers and employees including system of compensation as provided in its regulations. Budget allocated to each of company agency, indicating the particulars of all plans, proposed expenditures and reports on disbursement made.

Information related to Company’s Directors and Officers in respect of their establishment, TA-DA Allowances, Bonus, Targets, outcome from their abroad tours etc. Information related category-wise employee (SC-ST-OBC GEN etc), their educational qualification/date of appointment / total emoluments/present responsibilities of all consultants/advisors/members/chairpersons appointed in your department as well as in all attached offices/subordinate offices/directorates/organizations/centres/commissions/corporations/committees/academies/councils. Amount spent on Public Procurement. Statement of Loans, Interests & Dues in respect of the company, Preventive Vigilance steps for good governance in the Company. Information related to the intellectual property like information about manufacturing process of product line. Information pertaining to the commercial secrete like contract agreement, details of all purchases along-with their warranty, price, quality, make, standards, purchase order, invoice details etc. An applicant has sought information in the name of other applicant.

Positive Impact of the Act Departments have become cautious about the concept of accountability and their working. Openness and transparency is being achieved in all areas.
