**Vocabulary test will be on these words this Friday, October 20th** 3rd Grade Adventures MAUE October 16-20 Language Word of the week: We will be reviewing words 1-9 in class this week! Skill: Descriptive writing; Verbs, Dialogue Reminders Adventure night is OCTOBER 26th- Plan to be here!! It will be an adventure to say the least!! READING FAIR BOARDS DUE OCTOBER 30!!! Jag Store for 3rd grade is Thursday, October 19th Red Ribbon week next week- information on how to dress each day will go home this week! Word Study/Spelling atmosphere brilliant convince endure glance harsh plunge precious swift unite **Vocabulary test will be on these words this Friday, October 20th** We will work on one set of words for two weeks- spelling the first week and definitions the second week. Reading/Vocabulary Mystery- something that is unknown Clue- a fact or an object that helps solve a crime or puzzling event Alibi- an excuse that a suspect uses to show that he or she was not at the scene of the crime Crime- an act that is against the law Sleuth- an investigator or detective Witness- a person who has knowledge about a crime and can help the detective crack the case Suspect- a person who has a motive to have committed the crime Victim- someone who is harmed or suffers a loss because of a crime Investigate- to closely examine a problem and track down clues that lead to the solution Motive- a reason that a person does something Red Herring- fake clues that lead the detective in the wrong direction and away from the real evidence Be sure to study every night.
