It is classed as a depressant, meaning that it slows down vital functions; resulting in slurred speech, unsteady movement, disturbed perceptions and an inability to react quickly. Some people look at alcohol as a type of drug because it reduces a person’s ability to think and distorts his or her judgment. Most people consume alcohol to “loosen up.” But if a person consumes more than the body can handle, they then experience alcohol’s negative effects. WHAT IS ALCOHOL?

Before consuming alcohol, everyone needs to know its negative consequences. Although drinking is supposed to be fun, it can get the better of you. Here are few of its health consequences: -Anemia -Cancer -Cardiovascular disease -Cirrhosis of the liver -Dementia, Depression -Seizures -Gout -High blood pressure -Infectious disease -Nerve damage -Pancreatitis -Weakens the immune system MEDICAL POINT OF VIEW

According to Debra Gordon, a glass of wine a day can build better bones and prevents blood-sugar trouble Cont…

Media views alcohol to be a negative thing in society because it can lead to putting yourself in danger and also the people around you. Although society also believes that consuming wine can lead to a healthier lifestyle, It is proven that millions of people enjoy drinking alcohol because it calms their nerves. On the negative side certain people take it too far and become addicted to it. Media point of view

Today in America the average drinking age for girls is 13 years old and for boys its 11 years old. Young people who drink at a young age are more likely to get in an accident, be violent, cause crimes, and get involved in sexual intercourse with more than one partner. Cont…
